Welcome from Our President

Hello, I’m Toni Grayer, the 23rd President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Lambda Tau Omega Chapter (LTO). As a 40-year member of this amazing sisterhood, I am pleased to welcome you to our website.

LTO was chartered in 1978 by 18 forward-thinking women. They laid a strong foundation for impactful service and sisterhood throughout the Far South Suburban Chicagoland area. For 48 years, our members have continued the legacy by aligning with the initiatives of our International President.

The 2022-2026 program initiatives for the SOAR administration are:

  • Advocate for Social Justice
  • Build Our Economic Wealth
  • Empower Our Families
  • Enhance Our Environment
  • Uplift Our Local Community
  • Strengthen Our Sisterhood

Lambda Tau Omega’s local impact includes:

  • Social Justice – We train members to become voter registrars, hosts voter registration events and frequently raise issues that impact our community locally and nationally.
  • Education – LTO hosts financial literacy and heart health workshops throughout the year. Our annual blood drive is open to the public.

  • Community Building – LTO partners with social service agencies to bridge service gaps. Our members prepare and distribute holiday food baskets and cold-weather gear to families in need. We also partner with a local school to provide weekly meals for children.
  • Environmental Impact – Our members proudly created a community vegetable garden in Olympia Fields and frequently plant trees throughout the Southland.

Today, our chapter has grown from the original 18 charter members to over 300 dynamic women who remain steadfast in proudly fulfilling our mission of providing “Service to All Mankind.”

We welcome the partnership of businesses and organizations that share our commitment to strengthening our communities. I invite you to explore our events page for upcoming programs and activities open to the public. Thank you for visiting our site. Feel free to visit our sister organization, Twenty Pearls Foundation, Inc. www.tpfinc.org to learn more about our mentoring programs, scholarship opportunities, and upcoming fundraisers.

Warm regards,

Toni E. Grayer, President
