Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Lambda Tau Omega chapter is 264 members strong. We are the home of the current Central Regional Director, Sonya L. Bowen. Our chapter is where Service Influencers reside, because our sisterhood influences our service and our service influences our sisterhood. Our chapter members are college graduates, caring service leaders, who motivate, encourage, support, and volunteer their talents for the common good. For 42 years strong we have served the vast South Suburban Chicago community and in turn influence others to serve as well.
Our current international programs; Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service focuses on promoting and supporting HBCU’s, women’s health, building economic legacies, the arts, and making a global impact. Additionally, we highlight and sponsor program events for our international Community Impact Days including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Pink Goes Red for a Day, Global Impact Day, International Day of Prayer, HBCU day, Breast Cancer Awareness Day/Month and Caregivers Day. Please peruse our website for more information. Community involvement is vital to sustaining our local and global community.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® members looking for a chapter home or just a place to visit are warmly invited to join us. Our chapter meetings are listed on the events calendar.
As service influencers we invite you to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. A community of giving and service, influences a giving community!
